Election day in Spokane and Idaho: What you need to know

SPOKANE, Wash. – As election day approaches, Spokane County Auditor Vicki Dalton emphasizes the importance of getting ballots in on time. For those who still need to register, require a replacement ballot, or have questions, there are resources available.

Dalton advises that residents can visit the Center Place Regional Event Center in Spokane Valley or the EWU Catalyst Building downtown Spokane.

Both locations will be staffed from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow. Ballot drop-off boxes will be available at these sites, and all ballots are due by 8:00 p.m. tomorrow night.

Dalton also highlights that the elections office will not accommodate visitors today or tomorrow due to space constraints.

“You really need to look at that last pickup time on that blue bin to see if you’re too late,” Dalton said. “If you put your ballot in after the pickup time, it will not get a postmarked of election day and we cannot count your ballot,” said Dalton.

For frequently asked questions, voters can refer to their pamphlet. In-person services will be available starting at 8:30 a.m. this morning.

In Washington, ballots must be mailed or dropped off in ballot boxes by 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday night. In Idaho, polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
