Updated July 4 at 3:45 p.m. – Evacuations for the fire burning near Sand Flat Road have been increased to Level 2 for all residents on ENGH Road, Vista Vue Road, Mundinger Lane and all Roads North of SandFlat Road and ENGH Road.
OMAK, Wash. – A brush fire near Omak has caused level 1 evacuations to be issued for nearby residents.
Okanogan County Emergency Management reported that the fire, situated near Sand Flat Road and north of Engh Road, is spreading south, east, and west. Residents are advised to remain vigilant and mindful of emergency vehicles in the area. No information has been given the size of the fire yet.
According to the Washington Department of Natural Resources a level 1 evac means:
Ready: Prepare well before emergencies by creating defensible space around your home, assembling an emergency supply kit, and establishing a family communication plan.
