Evacuations dropped for Thorpe Road Fire, now over 50 acres

AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. — All evacuation orders have been dropped and fire crews are still on scene of the Thorpe Road Fire.

Evacuation orders have dropped to a Level 2 for the Thorpe Road Fire.

The fire is currently at 53 acres and no known structures have been damaged by flames.

Level 3 (“Go Now!”) Evacuations are in place for residents near the Thorpe Road Fire west of the Spokane International Airport.

Level 3 Evacuations remain in place for those living between Thorpe Road on the North and Medical Lake Highway on the South, as well as Hayford Road on the East and Lawson Street on the West. Level 3 evacuations mean ‘Leave Now!” This may be your only notice.

According to Spokane County Fire District 3, the fire is over 20 acres, and all forward progress has been stopped. So far, no injuries have been reported, and crews are assessing structures threatened by flames.
