Presented by Gonzaga University Theatre Arts Department. Major motion picture starring Meryl Streep. Set in Ireland in 1936, around the festival of Lughnasa (the Celtic harvest). The play depicts the late summer days when love briefly seems possible for the five Mundy sisters. It’s jovial times as the family welcomes home their frail elder brother who has returned from a life as a missionary in Africa. As the summer ends, however, the family foresees the sadness and economic privations under which they will suffer as all hopes fade. Enjoy a reception, appetizers, no host bar, live & silent auction.
