SPOKANE, Wash.- Players from the Eastern Washington University (EWU) men’s basketball team visited Regal Elementary on Feb. 12.

Forwards Jackson Seale and Emmett Marquardt joined students for some time shooting hoops in the school gym. Seale and Marquardt took time out of a full athletic schedule to visit the school, as the EWU men’s basketball is in the midst of a busy season.

Marquardt enjoyed his time playing basketball with the students.

“It was great. It was really cool for me, thinking back to when I was in fifth grade, to get experience with a college athlete,” Marquardt said.

The EWU athlete was excited to create an inspiring experience for the students, and enjoyed representing his team at Regal Elementary.

“I just tried to make it the best experience for the kids. It was a really good experience for me, Jackson, and the students,” Marquardt said.

Spokane Public Schools thanked Seale and Marquardt for spending time with the students on social media.

“Thank you for hoopin’ at Regal Elementary,” the district said.

It is clear that for a group of Regal students, Feb. 12 was a great day to learn more about basketball from two impressive athletes.
