SPOKANE, Wash. — Drivers using northbound U.S. 195 between Spangle and Spokane should expect delays as construction crews repave the roadway.
According to the Washington Department of Transportation (WSDOT), the project will repave the section between milepost 81 and milepost 94, from Cornwall Road to Cheney-Spokane Road. The repaving of the northbound lanes will start at 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 12. WSDOT noted that initial work will include surveying, guardrail installation, curbing and other preparations before paving begins the week of Aug. 19. Crews will start at Cornwall Road in Spangle and work northward.
Work will occur Monday through Friday between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., with single-lane closures expected on northbound U.S. 195. No lane closures will take place north of Hatch Road until after Sept. 10 due to a City of Spokane project affecting the intersection of U.S. 195 and Meadow Lane.
WSDOT also stated that daytime work on approaches and median crossovers at Hatch, Excelsior and Paradise Roads will be conducted but will not disrupt traffic between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. or 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. When closed, the Cheney-Spokane interchange exit ramp from U.S. 195 will have a detour sign in place.
