SEATTLE, Wash. – The families of a couple killed in a shooting at the Gorge Amphitheatre in June are suing Live Nation.
According to KIRO Seattle, family members of Brandy Escamilla and Josilyn Ruiz argue that Live Nation failed to enforce safety policies including a firearms and drug ban which could have prevented the shooting.
Alleged shooter James Kelly was purportedly high and paranoid when he fired several shots.
Kelly pled not guilty to all charges related to the shooting in July according to the Seattle Times.
The criminal charges faced by Kelly are separate from the civil wrongful death lawsuit filed by the families of Escamilla and Ruiz against Live Nation.
