BOISE, Idaho – As the trial of quadruple murder suspect Bryan Kohberger approaches, Steven Goncalves, the father of victim Kaylee Goncalves, is sharing his perspective.

Goncalves expressed the immense pressure his family has been under since the legal proceedings began.

He emphasized the importance of transparency in the trial process, stating, “I feel like anything the jury’s going to see in that courtroom, we should all see. You shouldn’t run from the truth. You shouldn’t hide the truth, even if it makes somebody a little guilty. So that part of the still work to be done. We need to get to a point where we say, if the evidence is all agreed upon, the facts are the facts, then it’s not going to contaminate a jury.”

Goncalves added that regardless of the trial’s outcome, the stress of the experience will remain with them. He views this as the first step in trying to move forward.

After much deliberation on what constitutes a “fair trial,” the trial will take place in Boise. Jury selection is set to begin on July 30, with the trial itself starting on Aug. 11.
