KAMIAH, Idaho — A fire at a teen center was quickly extinguished by firefighters in Kamiah around 6 p.m. on Saturday.
According to investigators, the fire was caused by a diesel furnace in the basement of the building located along Main Street. Employees at the teen center saw flames and called 9911.
Fire crews quickly put out the fire and cleared the center of smoke. They said it could have been much worse if the fire had broken out in the middle of the night.
