Firefighters rescue person from burning barn in Post Falls

POST FALLS, Idaho – The Kootenai County Fire Department rescued a person from a burning barn on Saturday night.

The fire broke out around 10 p.m. near Meyer Road with the barn filled with smoke and burning.

KCFD quickly worked with additional law enforcement officers to rescue the person inside the barn.

After 5 minutes of searching, they found and rescued the victim inside the barn, and they were quickly taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Initial information to law enforcement said the subject was suicidal.

KCFD and law enforcement are still on scene investigating the incident.
