CHENEY, Wash. – The Cheney Police Department arrested a man wanted for a violent assault in December 2023.
The 2023 incident occurred at the intersection of W 1st and K St, where the man allegedly attacked a victim with a hammer, striking the victim’s head and continuing to punch and kick him.
After the assault, the man purportedly fled the scene and evaded law enforcement, traveling to Nevada and Oregon. Cheney Police Department detectives, the U.S. Marshals Service and the Spokane Police Department arrested the suspect on December 28, 2024.
He is now in custody, facing charges of two counts of Assault in the First Degree, Robbery in the First Degree, and Resisting Arrest. He is being held on a $100,500 bond.
