SPOKANE, Wash. – The historic Garland Theater has initiated a new construction project to improve accessibility for handicapped moviegoers.
Starting on May 30, the construction project focuses on removing seats positioned at the edges to provide a more accommodating viewing experience for individuals with disabilities. Previously, designated wheelchair spaces were situated at the front of the room, resulting in discomfort for prolonged periods.
“We are continuously striving to ensure movies are accessible to everyone. For far too long, wheelchair users have been confined to the front row, straining their necks. By removing chairs at the edges, we aim to improve the moviegoing experience for all,” expressed the Garland Theater’s Facebook page.
