OLYMPIA, Wash. – Candidates and measures that will be on the Nov. 5 General Election ballot were certified on Thursday by the Washington Secretary of State.

Eligible Washington voters will vote for the next U.S. president, a U.S. Senate seat, nine statewide executives and various congressional, legislative, judicial and local races.

“The certification of candidates to the general election marks a critical step in our electoral process,” said Assistant Secretary of State Kevin McMahan. “The General Election ballot is a true reflection of the will of the voters, thanks to the due diligence of election officials who ensured a fair and secure election. We look forward to supporting county election offices in continuing to uphold the integrity of the election process, giving every voter confidence that their voice will be heard and counted.”

Four ballot measures will also be on the ballot, those being Initiative to the People 2066 and Initiatives to the Legislature 2109, 2117 and 2124. The last three initiatives had state lawmakers take no action in the 2024 legislative session and sent them to the November ballot.

All primary results were certified on Aug. 22 except for the Commissioner of Public Lands race where there will be a statewide recount.

Initial results of the race showed Democrat Dave Upthegrove holding only a 51 vote lead over Republican Sue Kuehl Pederson. The winner following the recount would move on to face Republican Jaime Herrera Beutler in the November election.

General Election ballots will be mailed to eligible voters by Oct. 18 and the deadline for online and mail registrations is Oct. 28. In-person registrations are accepted before 8 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 5.
