CARLTON, Wash. – Okanogan County Emergency Management has announced the lifting of all evacuation orders for residents affected by the 278-acre Gold Creek Fire.
The fire started on June 22 and burned 278 acres and is 70% contained, with crews mopping up the remaining blaze.
According to the DNR, the Gold Creek fire began on June 22 at 4:45 p.m. 3 miles south of Carlton. The blaze grew from 50 acres to 130 acres. DNR Type-3 Incident Management Team was mobilized and is en route to assist with managing the fire.
