CARLTON, Wash. — The is 99% contained after burning almost 280 acres near Carlton.
The blaze prompted level 2 (Be Ready!) evacuations for those living near Gold Creek Road and South Fork Gold Creek Road. All evacuations have been lifted.
Gold Creek Road was closed for an extended period but has since reopened.
The fire is 99% contained, and 157 fire personnel responded to this incident.
According to the Northeast Washington Interagency, the fire started from equipment. At this time, it is unknown what type of equipment caused the blaze.
