DANVILLE, Wash. – The Goosmus Fire burning near Danville along the US-Canadian border is completely contained.

According to the Washington Department of Natural Resources, crews have been able to isolate the remaining hotspots and the flames are now completely contained as crews continue to work on limiting the 1,700 acre size of the fire.

Those driving in the area will still likely see smoke near Big Goosmus Road, but the fire is unlikely to move beyond the containment line. Big Goosmus Road and Fourth of July Creek Road are still only accessible to local residents as firefighters continue their work.
