QUINCY, Wash. – A concert at the Gorge Amphitheater has been evacuated due to poor weather conditions and a nearby wildland fire.
According to a spokesperson from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, attendees of the Tyler Childers concert are being evacuated to their cars due to the severe weather, including rain and wind, as well as the wildland fire near the venue close to the Columbia River.
The deputy stated that there is a low risk of the fire reaching the venue. The spokesperson also noted that heavy rains are approaching the Gorge and are expected to help control the fire. Fire units are currently working to access the blaze.
The Gorge Amphitheatre said in the Facebook page that they are continuing to monitor the weather.
“For your safety, please continue to shelter in your vehicles. We are expecting things will clear up and allow us to get the show started,” they said in their Facebook post.
