OLYMPIA, Wash. – Governor Jay Inslee, after 12 years in office, has given his final Washingtonian of the Day award to his wife, Trudi Inslee.
During a heartfelt moment, the outgoing governor expressed his gratitude for her dedication to Washington State. He also presented her with a special pin to commemorate the occasion.
“I don’t do this everyday, I only do it when I really meet someone who’s inspirational,” Inslee said. “And when I do I take off this pin—this is the governor of Washington apple pin—and I pin it on them, and I just want to announce today that today’s Washingtonian of the day is Trudi Inslee. I’ve been waiting for this moment for 12 years.”
Governor Inslee’s last day in office is set for January 13, 2024.
