JULIAETTA, Idaho – The Gwen Fire . On Saturday morning, the Rocky Mountain Complex Incident Management Team announced that responsibility for addressing the fire will be transferred back to local fire officials.

According to the Idaho Department of Lands, complex incident officials and resources will remain in place for the fire to support local mop-up work on the fire.

Temporary Flight Restrictions above the area were lifted Saturday morning and powerline work to restore power to affected areas will take place over the weekend.

The Department of Lands warned locals to remain aware of potential hazards in areas that have been burned.

“Smoldering stumps and roots can hold heat and create ash pits, damaged and destabilized trees can fall, rocks and other debris can dislodge and roll down steep slopes, and burned structures will have toxic chemicals in the smoke,” the department said.

All roads that closed as a result of the fire have been reopened.
