OTHELLO, Wash. – A Spokane FBI based office shared information about a potential threat made towards Othello High School.
The post made to the Othello Police department (OPD) contained a photograph of inside the Othello High School gym where the captioned read “I’m shooting up the school today.”
The person who posted the photo was identified as a current student of Othello High School (OHS).
The school was locked down while the OPD was able to identify the student and remove him from school grounds.
According to OPD the investigation found no immediate threats and the student and their family were cooperative with police.
No firearm was located and the student did not identify any specific people in his post. The post was also removed.
OPD is continuing the work closely with the Othello School District and a report will be written later regarding any criminal charges regarding this event.
