Hit-and-run suspect arrested with help from Chelan citizen

CASHMERE, Wash. — A hit-and-run suspect is behind bars after with the help of a citizen in Chelan County.

According to the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), deputies responded to the 5100 block of Mission Creek Road around 3:03 a.m. for reports of someone crashing into a house and leaving.

No one inside the home was injured, but CCSO said there was significant damage to the exierior.

Deputies searched the area and could not find the suspect or his car. A notice was put out for those in the area to assist deputies in their search.

Around 8:03 a.m., CCSO received a notification that someone had located the possible vehicle suspected in the crash. Deputies responded to the 5400 block, where they found a 2012 white Chevy Silverado with damage to the front end.

CCSO located Dustin Olson, 30, of Cashmere and booked him into the Chelan County Regional Justice Center on charges of first-degree malicious mischief, hit and run and reckless endangerment.

This remains an active investigation and additional charges are possible.
