Hoda Kotb announces departure from ‘Today Show’ anchor role by the end of the year

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Hoda Kotb, co-anchor of the “Today Show,” has announced she will be stepping down from her anchor role at the end of the year.

Kotb has been a long-time staple on the “Today Show,” known for her extensive reporting worldwide and her role at the anchor desk.

Kotb, who made the announcement Thursday morning, said she plans to continue contributing to NBC in an unspecified role. The news, which broke on social media, has left many of her fans in shock.
