Home destroyed after fire in Newman Lake

NEWMAN LAKE, Wash. — A home is completely destroyed after a fire in Newman Lake.

According to the Newman Lake Fire Department (NLFD), crews responded to reports of a house fire just after 2 p.m. on April 30. When they arrived, they saw the home was fully engulfed and called for additional units.

At least 40 firefighters from Newman Lake, Hauser and Spokane Valley are assisting in fighting the blaze.

NLFD said the home is destroyed and is a pile of rubble.

While reports to firefighters indicated someone was inside the home, it is unclear if anyone was. This remains an active investigation.
