SPOKANE, Wash. – Firefighters extinguished a house fire in the Bemiss neighborhood of Spokane on Thursday morning.
According to firefighters, the fire was reported around 10 a.m. when light smoke was seen coming from a home near East Hoffman Avenue. Fire crews quickly located the fire in the attic and extinguished it before it caused further damage.
Fire investigators determined the fire was caused by an overheated chimney pipe, which ignited nearby framing members. The blaze caused an estimated $6,000 in damages.
No injuries were reported.
