SPOKANE, Wash. – A house fire in the Garland District left a person displaced Wednesday evening.
According to the Spokane Fire Department (SFD), the fire started at around 12:30 p.m. on the 1100 block of West Garland Avenue.
The fire was caused by electrical circuit failure in the attic of the house, causing $75,000 in damage.
SFD encourages people who live in older homes to check that their home’s electrical systems are up to current code to avoid potential fire hazards.
