How the money from Miracle Coffee Day helps local children

SPOKANE, Wash. – Today is Miracle Coffee Day, where every drink you buy at a Dutch Bros in the greater Spokane area will raise money for local kids in the hospital.

Numerica Credit Union will donate one dollar, up to 10 thousand dollars, to the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) for each drink bought.

Nonstop Local spoke with CMN’s program director about where specifically all that money is going. She says it goes directly to Sacred Heart, and it has to be used for patients’ immediate benefit.

The money funds highly specialized equipment, advanced clinical training, and supportive programs like Child Life, art, and music therapy.

The money supports local kids from the moment they are born, all the way until they turn 18. It does not matter how severe their injury is. It could help someone who took a hard fall off their bike, or someone who has been in the hospital for years with a chronic illness.

None of it can be done without donations from the public.

“The impact is profound,” said Mary Hollingsworth, CMN program director. “I mean, we couldn’t do the work we do without support from our community. Especially those specialized programs, those are funded completely by our community…”

Remember, all you have to do today to make a difference is buy a drink at Dutch Bros in the greater Spokane area, and if you want to donate more, you can always tell the baristas you want to round up.
