Icy road causes crash on Highway 2 near Airway Heights, leaving two injured

AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. — A man and a woman were injured in a crash on Highway 2 near Airway Heights.

According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the incident occurred around 9 a.m. near milepost 276. A 50-year-old man was driving eastbound on Highway 2 in the left lane when his car lost control on the slick roadway. The car crossed into the westbound lanes, where it crashed head-on with a 54-year-old woman’s car, which was also in the left lane.

WSP said both the man and the woman were injured and transported to a hospital.
