Idaho Department of Transportation implements new road safety feature

BOISE, Idaho – The Idaho Department of Transportation installed damaged tire sensors at ports around Idaho to provide an extra safety measure.

Ports of entry around Idaho inspect car and semitrucks every day to ensure safety on the roads.

Now with the use of this new technology they can notify drivers of damaged and deflating tires before a crash happens

The system is a protective approach to safety and will hopefully prevent tire blowouts and flats that pose a dangerous risk to drivers along the highway.

The cost of these new systems is significantly less than the economic cost of crashes in Idaho.
