SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Spokane County deputies arrested an Idaho man for having a felony warrant and carrying meth in his car.

According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, on July 26 at around 8 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the East Valley Avenue area. The caller reported seeing a man rummaging through the car. When approached, the man claimed he was visiting someone he didn’t know and mentioned being framed.

As deputies investigated, they discovered that the car was linked to a man with a felony warrant from Idaho. The man was identified as 41-year-old Anthony Verbillis.

While confirming his identity, deputies observed Verbillis walking down the street, matching his description. When questioned, Verbillis confirmed his identity and was subsequently arrested.

After confirming the warrant and receiving Idaho’s agreement to extradite Verbillis, he was advised of his rights and arrested as a fugitive. Deputies later found methamphetamine in his car. During transport to jail, Verbillis commented that he believed drugs were decriminalized in Washington.

Verbillis was booked into the Spokane County Jail on charges of methamphetamine possession and as a fugitive awaiting extradition.
