Idaho Governor Brad Little signs executive order to limit student cellphone use

BOISE, Idaho – Idaho Governor Brad Little (R) signed an executive order Thursday encouraging local school districts to limit the use of cellphones.

Entitled the Phone Free Learning order, the executive action incentivizes school districts to limit the use of cellular devices.

“The Governor’s ‘Phone Free Learning Act’ encourages all schools to adopt a comprehensive, district-wide policy restricting cell phones in schools by the end of the 2024-2025 school year and offers districts that adopt a policy a $5,000 one-time award,” Little’s office said.
