COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – The Idaho Missing Persons Clearinghouse published its 2023 report this week. The data shows that teenagers are overrepresented as a share of missing persons.
According to the report, minors from the ages of 13 to 18 were overrepresented in the data, with the largest spike at age 16.
Other characteristics such as race and gender reflected the broader demographic composition of Idaho.
The Missing Persons Clearinghouse is operated by Idaho State Police, which publishes an annual report on missing persons as well as coordinating searches.
