NEZ PERCE COUNTY, Idaho. – The Idaho State Police said they have made progress in the investigation of the deaths linked to the escaped prison inmates Skylar Meade and Nicholas Umphenour.
“Idaho State Police (ISP) detectives, in collaboration with multiple agencies, have made significant progress in the investigation of two homicides related to the March 20, 2024, escape of Skylar Meade, aided by Nicholas Umphenour.” said Idaho State Police.
The murders they continue to investigate are of 83-year-old James L. Mauney and 72-year-old Gerald “Don” Henderson.
The two inmates were formally indicted in Nez Perce County for the murders.
The Idaho State police have not explicitly explained what that progress is.
