COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – An Idaho State Police K9 officer died this week. The north Idaho officers who served with K9 Ace mourned him while describing his impact on the force.
According to ISP, Ace served with Trooper Kevin Kessler and became known for his exceptional nose and participated in several major drug busts.
“Ace was a remarkable partner in law enforcement and a gentle dog cherished by everyone who had the privilege of meeting him,” ISP said in a Saturday statement.
Ace enjoyed the last years of his life in retirement with the Kessler family. He was honored by ISP over the New Year holiday.
