LEWISTON, Idaho – The Idaho woman who pled guilty to smothering her father to death at a Lewiston Veterans home was sentenced to two years in jail.
Sandra McCarty, 55, was sentenced by a Nez Perce County Judge on Nov. 11 after an over yearlong case.
McCarty was originally arrested back in February 2023 after nursing staff at a Lewiston veteran home .
Her father who was a former veteran died two weeks after the incident.
McCarty was sentenced to two years at the Idaho State Penitentiary for aggravated battery and was ordered to pay $5,245.50 to the victim’s family.
