BOISE, Idaho – September is National Preparedness Month, and the Gem State is getting ready to celebrate by promoting planning for emergencies that could befall families.
The Idaho Office of Emergency Management announced programming in observance of the month on Friday, which will include the promotion of emergency kits in cars and homes in addition to families creating emergency plans for fires and floods.
“Idahoans are encouraged to discuss and document how they will communicate during an emergency, where they will go, and what steps they will take in different scenarios,” the office said.
Each week of September will be dedicated to a different facet of preparedness, including creating plans, building emergency kits, staying informed and getting involved.
