Idaho’s Wolf Lodge Steakhouse fire caused by grease buildup

SPOKANE, Wash. – The fire that destroyed the beloved steakhouse, Wolf Lodge, in northern Idaho was caused by grease buildup.

Idaho State Fire Marshal’s Office has completed its investigation and found that the fire was caused by grease buildup inside a pipe above the kitchen’s grill.

The buildup was caused by a breach in the pipe that was inside the attic that ignited and spread to the rest of the building.

ISFM encouraged all other small businesses to monitor and maintain cooking equipment by a reputable contractor.
