SPOKANE, Wash. – The City of Spokane is urging drivers to plan for detours that will result from rebuilding the intersections at Thor and Second Ave. and Freya and Second Ave. beginning on Monday, March 25.

Anticipated to last approximately 10 weeks, phase two of the Thor-Freya corridor project will close the Westbound I-90 Exit 283B Thor-Freya off-ramp and Westbound 2nd Ave. between Thor St. and Freya St, according to a release from the City of Spokane.

Westbound I-90 drivers will have three rerouting options that include Exit 286 at Broadway Ave., Exit 285 at Sprague or Exit 283A at Altamont St. Northbound Freya St. will still be open between 5th Ave. and Sprague Ave.

The detours are expected to last until early June. Similar construction is planned for Eastbound 3rd Ave. at Thor and Freya streets once the Thor-Freya corridor project is complete.

Improvements that will result from the construction include rebuilding the intersection with concrete, replacing curb and stormwater facilities, upgrades to accommodate individuals with disabilities and water and sewer replacements.
