Irrigation canal break causes flooding and triggers level 2 evacuations (Be Set) near Moses Lake

Update Aug. 5 10:51 p.m. – According to the sheriff’s office, Level 2 evacuations have been issued for the area of 10000 block of Road 4 NE.

Level 2 means you should be ready to go.

Grant County deputies said that water from the canal is being diverted to Moses Lake and Potholes Reservoir.

GRANT COUNTY, Wash. – An irrigation canal broke between Road 5 and Road O causing potential flooding on nearby roads and possibly affecting other areas along its path.

According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, at around 10 p.m. on August 5, a canal broke between Road 5 and Road O Northeast. Roads potentially affected by the flooding include Road 4 and parts of Wheeler Road.

Grant County deputies said that water is over the roadway at the 4300 block of Road N NE and is traveling southwest towards Road N NE & Road 4 NE.
