ELMIRA, Idaho — The Idaho State Police (ISP) are seeking witnesses, camera footage and other evidence related to .
According to ISP, the fatal crash occurred Friday around 8:30 a.m. near milepost 490 in Elmira, around 16 miles from Sandpoint. ISP is asking the public to help in the investigation by providing any dash camera footage, business surveillance, Ring doorbell video or other video recordings showing traffic traveling south on U.S. 95 from milepost 505 in Boundary County (Bonners Ferry) to milepost 479 in Bonner County. The footage requested is from between 6:45 a.m. and 8:35 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 22.
ISP is also encouraging drivers who traveled on U.S. 95 during that time and may have observed the cars involved in the crash but have not yet spoken to investigators to come forward with any information.
“This investigation is critical to understanding what led to this tragic collision,” said Trooper Travis Bucher, ISP District 1. “We believe someone may have additional information or footage that can help piece together the events leading up to the crash. Even small details that seem insignificant could provide vital clues to help bring closure to the families affected by this devastating loss.”
