Jordan Peterson to visit Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. – Dr. Jordan Peterson, a popular conservative speaker, author and psychologist, will visit Spokane on Jan. 21 during his “We Who Wrestle With God” tour.

Peterson first gained notoriety when his University of Toronto lectures were shared widely on social media.

He secured widespread support in 2017 amongst conservative activists and young men who frequent right-wing forums online after he passionately opposed a Canadian civil rights law that added provisions to the Canadian Human Rights Act.

Peterson is also known for his advocacy for an all-meat diet and his belief that the social practices of lobsters can explain hierarchical structures amongst people.

He caused controversy for arguing in 2018 that women shouldn’t wear makeup at work because it is a “sexual display in the workplace” that creates the potential for sexual harassment.

The prominent speaker endorsed former President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election, though he can’t vote in the US given that he’s a Canadian citizen.
