SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane Conservation District will host an event teaching homeowners to mitigate fire damage in the event of a wildfire with proper gardening techniques.
The event will take place at the Shadle Park Library on Aug. 1 from 4 to 5:30 p.m., and will include input from professional foresters.
“This presentation will help homeowners living in the wildland-urban interface apply and implement Firewise principles to their home and property, emphasizing the Home Ignition Zone,” the Spokane Public Library event announcement states.
