COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office and Coeur d’Alene Police Department are searching for a teen who escaped from the Kootenai County Juvenile Detention Center.
According to the sheriff’s office, on June 21, around 3:33 p.m., authorities were alerted that two teens had escaped from the detention center. Both agencies immediately initiated a search for the teens. Coeur d’Alene Police reported locating one in Fourth Street and Gregory Lane, while the other was last seen running north across Dalton Avenue from the Juvenile Detention Center.
The escaped teen has been identified as Caden J. Schreibeis, 15. He is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds, with medium-length brown hair. He was last seen wearing a green shirt and blue sweatpants.
The other teen who was located has been booked on charges including injuring a jail facility and conspiracy to commit escape. He was arrested without incident, according to the sheriff’s office.
