COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office located a missing 70-year-old woman using a helicopter Wednesday night.
According to the sheriff’s office, the woman was reported missing by her husband when she didn’t return from walking their dog.
A sheriff’s office helicopter was deployed to search for the woman. An infrared camera was used to find the woman and dog on a trail in the woods. After she was retrieved by sheriff’s deputies, she said that she had gotten lost in the woods and became unable to find her way back.
Kootenai County’s helicopter is flown by volunteers and owned by the department.
