Lakeland School District approves $7.52M levy for May ballot after previous measure fails

SPIRIT LAKE, Idaho — has approved a new levy following the failure of its previous measure in November.

The Lakeland School Board voted 3-2 on Wednesday at Timberlake High School to place a $7.52 million levy on the . The vote was initially tied at 2-2 until a trustee arrived to cast the deciding vote. This new proposal comes after the district’s previous $9.52 million levy failed last May.

The newly approved levy includes a stipulation requiring each high school to reduce its budget by $85,000. Additionally, the district has not declared a financial state of emergency.
