BENTON CITY, Wash. – A large fire in Benton City near 13th Street and Ellen Avenue is now fully contained, according to Benton County Fire District 4 Chief Paul Carlyle.
Carlyle says all evacuations in Benton City have been lifted.
The fire has been contained between Edith Avenue and the 900 block of 13th Street as of 5:45 p.m. The Benton County Sheriff’s Office says 13th Street will be closed for the next couple of hours.
The fire reportedly started as a structure fire but later turned into a wildfire, according to Carlyle.
No injuries have been reported. Crews will be on scene overnight looking for hot spots.
