MOSCOW, Idaho—The Latah County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents regarding a circulating mail form asking for support for bulletproof vests.
Deputies from Latah County became aware of these forms and informed community members that the sheriff’s office had not initiated their distribution. Additionally, the form falsely claims that donated funds will benefit deputies, a claim refuted by the sheriff’s office.
The Latah County Sheriff’s Office clarified that deputies purchased their own vests and discouraged community members from sending money.
