MOSCOW, Idaho – As the November election approaches, the Latah County Sheriff’s Office is reminding the public of the laws that govern political signs.
The sheriff’s office said that without their permission is theft. Political signs can also present potential traffic concerns.
“Signs…must be far enough off a public roadway that they won’t impede roadway operations,” the sheriff’s office said.
Additionally, it is also against the law to place a sign on private property without the owner’s permission.
As the election season ramps up, both major political parties are in the remaining weeks before ballots are cast.
