COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – The Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) in support of Special Olympics worldwide will trek through 14 Idaho cities beginning on Monday, April 29.

The five-day-long fundraiser for Special Olympics Idaho is just one of many LETR fundraisers taking place all throughout the country.

According to the LETR’s website, the organization has been fighting for the inclusion and acceptance of individuals with intellectual disabilities since 1981.

Approximately 25 Idaho law enforcement agencies will be participating in this year’s torch run, according to the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office.

The LETR supporting Special Olympics Idaho is set to begin in Bonners Ferry on April 29 at 8 a.m., making their way to Coeur d’Alene at 12:30 p.m. that same day. Their next stop will be Moscow at 4 p.m. followed by Lewiston at 6:30 p.m.

For individuals interested in watching or cheering on participating local law enforcement in Coeur d’Alene, Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office has reported that the run will start at the North Idaho College Christianson Gymnasium and continue down the Centennial Trail until it reaches the Avista Pavillion in McEuen Park.

The LETR will continue “carrying the flame of hope” throughout the remaining cities until Friday, May 3, according to Special Olympics Idaho.

Day two of the run will take off in Orofino at 8 a.m. and end in McCall at 2:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, the LETR will pick back up in Sun Valley at 8 a.m., run through Idaho Falls at 1:30 p.m. and finish the day in Pocatello at 4:30 p.m.

Thursday’s trek will also go through two cities, beginning with Twin Falls at 9 a.m. and ending in Emmet at 2:30 p.m.
