SPOKANE, Wash. – A Mormon choir performed at Expo ‘74 50th anniversary celebrations in Riverfront Park on Saturday, a reprisal of several historic performances at Spokane’s World’s Fair.
Entitled the “Regional Choir of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, A reprise of the Mormon Expo ’74 Choir,” the performance echoed the presence of the Church of Latter Day Saints (LDS) at the Expo.
LDS church members put their own spin on the Expo’s anti-pollution theme by sharing their social doctrine during the World’s Fair.
“Find shelter from the moral pollution rampant in the world today,”
LDS musical talents were featured several times throughout Expo celebrations and brought in thousands of visitors.
