ASOTIN COUNTY, Wash. – Level 3 (go now) evacuation orders have been issued by the Asotin County Sheriff’s Office due to the Cougar Creek fire.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the Washington Department of Natural Resources has advised county residents to view the evacuation map released on 4:45 p.m. Tuesday to see whether their homes are under evacuation advisories.
“Asotin County is issuing a level 3 go evacuation at the recommendation of Dept. of Natural Resources (DNR) for the Cougar Creek Fire from Cougar Creek area to Highway 129 near Boggan’s,” the sheriff’s office said.
Lower level evacuation orders are also in place further from the fire.
Several fire crews were fighting the flames Tuesday night, with boaters in the Snake River area asked to leave the river so that aircraft can funnel water to fight the fire.
